Stucky Radical Light
Salonen Kínēma, for clarinet and string orchestra
Sibelius Symphony No. 5

Intensely personal and unfailingly compelling, Sibelius’s music astonishes, thrills, soothes, and beguiles. His profound love of nature is vividly present in his Fifth Symphony, with its famous finale inspired by the sight of a flock of swans flying overhead. Famed Finnish conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen is renowned for his reading of his fellow countryman’s works. He also brings a work of his own: Kínēma, a brilliant showcase for Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Clarinet Ricardo Morales.
