Crescendo: Closing the Campaign
In 2001, The Philadelphia Orchestra Board of Directors resolved to mount a campaign to increase the Orchestra’s endowment, which at that time stood at $63 Million, well behind most of its peer orchestras.  They announced a $125 Million Endowment Campaign - A Sound, A City, A Civilization: The Campaign for The Philadelphia Orchestra - and enlisted Peter Benoliel to chair this critical initiative.

Since that time, he and a dedicated Campaign Committee have garnered commitments of more than $118 Million* toward that goal. Today the effects of this effort are beginning to be felt throughout the Orchestra.  We have now entered the final phase – or Crescendo – of this campaign with $6.5 Million* left to raise.

* Figures accurate as of 4/2/08.
